Cross Country

Runners of any ability are welcome. We belong to two leagues (the Manchester Area League and the North Staffs League). The events are very sociable and great winter training to maintain fitness. Unless you’re under 11, you need to be EA affiliated to compete for the club in these events.

Individual runners also compete in the annual Cheshire Championships, the North of England Country Championships and the English National Cross Country Championships.

The club XC Championships depends on points from a runner’s best races over the season, with slightly different qualifying races for U11s and U13 to Senior Runners. Details of the XC Club Championship Rules can be found here.

The Cross Discipline Challenge exists in order to promote and celebrate participation in all of the disciplines that the club is active in and to encourage members to branch out and compete in areas outside of their normal preferred discipline and to support the club through volunteering.
