We meet on Wednesday nights at various venues 7pm for 1.5-2hrs. All levels usually catered for with Green (a gentle 5-6miles), Blue (6-7miles), Red (8-9miles) and Black (a pacey 9-10miles) groups on the busiest nights, plus varying degrees of climb. We put on and encourage participation in both local and distant fell races and ultras throughout the year. New joiners always welcome and full details of the runs each week are published in the ‘Closed’ Fell Facebook group (search for Macclesfield Harriers on Facebook).

Please wear off-road shoes, and in winter bring a decent head torch and appropriate clothing.
We have an amazing fell running alumni, but some of these no longer race…
Introducing:
The Potters – an informal retired runners’ group that meets weekly on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 10.00. Its membership comes from Macclesfield Harriers and Congleton Harriers but welcomes any adults who wants steady weekday off-road runs and who has the time to spare. Run venues are posted in advance from a variety of locations, usually close to a café for post-run tea & cakes. They last between 90 minutes and two hours, cover about 7 miles and are mainly off-road. They are run in all weathers, all year, in all conditions and can include a walking group if required. This is not an official club group. More information in their Facebook Group (
Potters Running Club), or
