Stockport 10 mile 2017 Race Report

After a very cold week things warmed up for the final race in the Club Road Race Championship at the Stockport 10 mile race. This challenging race starts and finishes at the Woodbank track and goes down to the Goyt river, up to a housing estate overlooking the river, back down to the Goyt river and then finally back up to Woodbank Park. The race is mostly on roads but some are not paved and were quite slippery in places. There were 18 Harriers who raced with some great times and some more age group prizes won.

For the men Ewan Edmondson (1:01:17) was first Harrier over the line gaining a PB for this distance. Billy Hicks (1:03:46) was second male Harrier and also had a PB. Paul Sharp (1:04:25) rounded off the top three male Harriers with another PB for 10 miles bagged.

For the women Kristy Gill (1:09:09) was first Harrier to finish placing 10th overall female. Lindsay Purdie (1:15:27) was second female Harrier just missing out on a PB time. Catharine Crossley (1:18:30) was third female Harrier and another Harrier to get a PB. Just behind Catharine was Joanna Miles (1:18:42) who was 1st V55 female.
