Our Club

Affiliated to England Athletics (registration number 2658261), Cheshire County Athletics Association, and Northern Athletics.

Macclesfield Harriers & Athletic Club has been a significant part of the sporting life of Macclesfield and the surrounding area since 1896. From its origins as a traditional Harriers Club it has developed into a multi-disciplinary Harriers and Athletics Club with members participating in cross-country running, road running, fell running, trail running, and track & field. The Club has more than 750 members, both male and female, of all ages and all abilities. It includes both competitive members and recreational runners and is supported by a large number of volunteers who organise the running of the club, provides coaching, officiating, and organisation of athletics events and team management.

The club organises several races each year – historically Run Macc Fest being the biggest in terms of entrants and money raised for charity. The club has a strong belief in supporting the local community and currently donates all net profits (after costs) from each of these races to local charity.
