February & March 2024 Club Record-Breakers

Posted on 08/04/2024

ROAD

Congratulations to John Carr on breaking the previous 5K record of 16:46 for the V50 category with a time of 16:19 in Leicester. This record had stood for almost 25 years!

TRACK

Jasyn Savage claimed yet more records Indoors at the Manchester Indoor Open events. Jasyn claimed the 200m and 600m records in February and the 300m record in March. The 200m record was previously unclaimed, however Jasyn improved his own records in the 300m and 600m events by over 3 and 4 seconds respectively.

Ian Ratcliffe has also secured two of his own indoor records in the V60 category. Ian claimed the 200m Indoor record at the British Masters event last year, and has also claimed the 60m Indoor record with an excellent time of 9.07 seconds this year in Manchester. Ian has been inspired by our very own Hilary West, and is very much looking forward to a successful 2024 season in the Macclesfield colours!

A special mention must go to Tristan Lamprecht. Tristan claimed the Indoor 60m Hurdles records for both the U13’s (December 2022) and also in the U15 category in March 2024. The latter record had been held by Jack Andrew since January 2006! Tristan also claimed the U13 75m record (July 2022).

FIELD

Continuing his success on the Track, Tristan Lamprecht also had some excellent results in the Field. Tristan claimed two previously unclaimed U15 records, including the Octathlon in Manchester (3036 points) and the Shot Put, with a distance of 10.09m. A fantastic all-round effort!

Many congratulations to all these athletes and their achievements! Please click the link below for details of all Club Records claimed in February and March 2024.

February and March 2024 Club Record Breakers

Please keep those records coming! (Including any records previously broken and not yet claimed – a list of these is available within Club Records). As we now approach the Outdoor Season, I expect to see many entries coming in as our athletes run, jump and throw their way into the record books!
