ROAD
Congratulations to Matthew Lynas on claiming three V55 Road records in the last month! Matthew improved both the 5-Mile and the Half-Marathon records that had stood for over 21 years! In addition, Matthew improved his own Marathon record time in April 2024 by a full 9 minutes in Manchester!
Continuing the success in the Marathon, Rob Whitby claimed the V35 Marathon record that had been in place for over 11 years. Rob improved this record by over 4 minutes with a time of 2:35.01 at the London Marathon.
Finally, Sue Stockdale claimed the V50 5K record. Sue ran sub-21 minutes with a fantastic time of 20:58 at the Mid-Cheshire 5K in Kingsley! Amazing achievements by all these athletes on the Road!
TRACK
On the Track, Ben Hunsley claimed the 75m U13 record at the YDL in Blackburn. Well done Ben.
Finally, there are not enough superlatives in my vocabulary to describe the achievements of this next athlete! Hilary West has claimed a further 9 Club Records this month across the V60 and V65 categories.
Hilary now holds a grand total of 33 Club Records across Track and Road having set multiple records this month across the globe! Highlights include the Indoor events at the European Masters in Torun and Pescara. In addition to this, Hilary has claimed records stretching from the Northwest of England across to Australia! Inspirational!
