Harry Simpson added yet another Cheshire title (and club record) to his 2016 list by winning the U17 mens Pentathlon title in a close contest at the Cheshire Multi-events and relay competition held at Macclesfield Athletics track on Sunday 11th September.
In the course of the competition Harry also set personal bests (PBs) in the 100m Hurdles (14.9s), shot (8.29m) and High jump (1.53m). Â David Butlin also set a number of PBs in the highly contested Boys U15 pentathlon to take 4th place overall. Â Macc Harriers Hayden Blunn, Fabian Thompson and William Roberts won the overall U11 team competition, with Hayden and Fabian also finishing first and second in the individual U11 boys Multi-event competition.Â Other harriers competing in the multi-events and recording various PBs included, Matthew Browne, Poppy Dutton and Natasha Hanks - well done all. Â Rebecca Dilworth took first in the U11 girls 800m with 2 mins 42.6secs.Â Fabian Thompson set a club record in winning the U11 boys 800m with a time of 2 mins 29.6secs.
In the track relay championships, also contested as part ofÂ this event, the U11s and U15s continued their run of successes with 1st in the U11 girls 4 x 100m and 3 x 600m and 1st in the U15 girls 3 x 800m and 4 x 300m. Â
