Well done to all Macclesfield Harriers athletes who competed so well at the Northern Indoor T&F Championships recently. In January, Jake Rowley had a fabulous couple of days at the U17 championship event in Sheffield picking up bronze medals with personal best performances in both the 400m (52.32s) and 800m (2.05.22 in final, 2.04.03 in heat) and a club record in the 400m. Hayden Blunn, our multi-event expert, put in a great performance in the shot put to take 4th place in the U20 event , also a new PB and club record. Sam Danson (U20), competed in the Senior Long Jump event and took the silver medal with an excellent leap of 6.81m, another club record. On 5th February, also at Sheffield it was the turn of the U15 age groups, with Tristan Lamprecht (another talented all-rounder) picking up a bronze medal in the 60m hurdles in 9.98s. Thomas Wood, in his first ever indoor competition, gained PBs in all 3 events he entered: 200m, 800m and long jump.
Jake was in action again in Sheffield this weekend in the U15/17/20 England Indoor Championships and earned a new PB in the 800m, with a time of 2.02.39.
