On Saturday 22nd October 2022, three teams of Macclesfield Harriers made their way to the Northern Cross Country relays in Graves Park, Sheffield. The day started with an early drive across the peaks for some of the parents who also wanted to get in a parkrun before the event on a beautifully crisp Autumn morning!
Competing first were the team of U17 Boys: Tom Marsh, Finlay Pettie and Aadi Whitlock. All 3 boys raced their individual legs very well to finish 16th overall in a time of 25:54
Next up were the U13 Boys: Thomas Wood, Bobby Tomlinson and Jake Ireland. The boys got off to a flying start and rocketed to the front of the race early on. Fantastic teamwork meant that the boys stormed home in third position after an exciting race and were very well deserving of their podium finish.
Finally, it was the turn for the trio of U15 Boys: Jared Dickinson, Matthew Walker and Michael Wood. Again, all 3 boys raced extremely well, powering through to finish 5th overall.
Congratulations to all three teams who are now looking ahead to the English Cross Country Relays in Mansfield.
