This morning’s Pavilion Gardens parkrun was the first of four parkruns designated as fixtures in our Road Running Club Championship. Twenty-four Harriers made the trip to Buxton and were rewarded with a beautiful Spring morning. Those of us further back in the field were able to appreciate the views of Solomon’s Temple towering over Buxton. This picturesque course consists of three loops of the eponymous Pavilion Gardens, and it is both undulating and twisty.
The star of the morning was undoubtedly Holly Nettle, who gave up her own run to attend to an injured runner and ensure that they were fit and well. For her outstanding act of sportsmanship, Holly has been awarded 100 points in the Club Championship. Well done, Holly!
Thirteen Harriers attended Pavilion Gardens parkrun for the first time, while five recorded new course PBs.
Sue Stockdale was the first lady to finish today, crossing the line in a time of 22:15. Emma Galleymore (24:18), and Caroline Gisby (24:46) were the second and third Macclesfield Harriers ladies, respectively.
Our fastest three men also bagged the three podium positions. James Perry came third in 17:50, Ben Greene finished ahead of him in 17:43, and Jordan Cooper was first across the line with a time of 17:29.
Congratulations to all for your performances at Pavilion Gardens parkrun. Full results are available here.
