Indoor Track & Field Report – 2024-2025

Posted on 8 Mar at 12:45 pm

What a fabulous indoor track and field season for the club – athletes ranging from U13s to Seniors have competed in different indoor competitions, mostly in Sheffield and Sportcity but even internationally; some were competing in indoors events for the first time and many club records have been set or broken.

In the Seniors, there have been great performances from Ashley Pritchard, Ian Ratcliffe and Declan Murray – Declan has broken club records for 600m, 1500m and 3000m. In the U23s Sam Pendrill ran PBs in the 1500m and 3000m and Laurence Manley travelled to Belgium and the Netherlands to compete in the 1500m and 800m.
Jake Rowley, now competing in U20s, qualified for 400m in the England Athletics Indoor Championships and also has also broken club records in the 600m and 800m this season. Hayden Blunn won the U20 Shot Put overall at the Northern Championships and went on to win a bronze medal at the England Athletics Indoor Championships.

In U17s, Ava Wragg set up for her outdoor season in the 300m and achieving a PB in the 200m. Ollie Mills-Kidal has jumped to PBs in both High Jump and Triple Jump.
Samuel Savage had his first indoor season as an U15 and managed to break the club Shot Put record with a throw of 11.71m and also set a new club record for the 400m with a time of 60.64 seconds. His Shot Put distance meant he qualified for the U15 England Athletics Indoor Championships – he unfortunately didn’t make the podium but really enjoyed the experience.

In U13s Ben Hunsley and Emma Bedoya both competed for the first time at the EIS in Sheffield – both setting PBs; Ben ran 60m and Emma ran 60m Hurdles and both long jumped. Their U13 teammate Georgia Evans set PBs and broke club records in 60m, 200m and Long Jump.
