Sixteen Macclesfield Harriers braved the rain at Dunham Massey on Thursday evening. After a day of heavy downpours, the rain cleared in time for the start of the race and our members were in high spirits as the race began. However, the heavens opened and drenched the competitors about 10 minutes into the race. Despite the soaking, our members had a great evening and produced some wonderful results.
Faye Sharpley’s time of 18:55 earned her 3rd place in the ladies’ race and 1st place in the F40 category! Helen Saunders was our second lady across the line as she recorded a 5k PB of 20:10. Third across the line was Sue Stockdale who finished in a time of 21:20.
Our fastest male competitor was Jordan Cooper who finished in a time of 17:03. He was followed by George O’Donnell in a time of 18:31, and Graeme Eddie in a time of 19:11.
There were also some great age category performances: George O’Donnell was 1st in the Male Junior category, Ann-Marie Jones was first F70 in a time of 25:34, Sue Stockdale was 2nd F50, and Keith Mulholland’s time of 21:02 saw him take 3rd place in the M60 category.
Having fielded a complete ladies’ team and two men’s teams, Macclesfield Harriers & A.C. will have earned some valuable team points in the CCA Road Grand Prix.
Congratulations to all who took part and represented the club with strong performances. Full results are available here.
