The Boxing Day Handicap is an internal club event (club members only) and has been a Boxing Day tradition for many years. It is a very simple format – runners estimate their own time for the 3-4 mile route around Langley and Trentabank and the winner is the person who finishes closest to their predicted time – runners are not permitted to wear watches.
The route traditionally starts by the Methodist Church on Cock Hall Lane, Langley and finishes by Bottoms Reservoir or The Leather’s Smithy (organiser’s decision) – it is a mix of quiet lanes and a forest trail. After the run there is usually a ‘social’ gathering to to discuss the run and present the prizes!
