Yet again the reputation of the Mid Cheshire 5K for being a fast race held true for the 12 Macc Harriers that ran on Friday evening under perfect conditions. While many of the Macc Harrier runners were competing at 5K on the road for the first time, this does not mean that their times and PBs were not great achievements. Eight of the 12 runners set PBs on the night. The men were led by the Walker family with Mark Walker (16:24) just 18 seconds off his PB and junior Matthew Walker (17:06) setting an amazing PB in his first 5K road race. The woman were led by Faye Sharpley (18:56) setting a PB time and was followed by Emma Galleymore (22:45) who also had a PB time. For those looking for a 5K PB the summer version of this race on Friday Aug 26th is still open for entries but usually sells out so get your entries in (Mid Cheshire 5k (Summer) 2022 – niftyEntries.com).
