It was a beautiful spring evening as ten Macclesfield Harriers raced around the picturesque village of Christleton and the surrounding countryside. The course is one of the flattest 5k’s around and goes through the village of Christleton twice, ensuring that racers are well supported as they speed past the crowds.
The fine conditions and the pancake-flat course meant that competitors had the chance to set some great times, and our ten Harriers certainly delivered! The top two ladies were Helen Eddie (35:09) and Sue Stockdale (21:09) while the fastest three men were James Perry (17:16), Rob Whitby (16:40), and Matthew Walker (16:13). Particular congratulations go to Matthew for being the quickest Harrier overall while still competing as a junior! As well as being the speediest Harriers on the night, Sue Stockdale was the fastest 3rd V50 lady and Matthew Walker was the 4th quickest U20 male.
