Indoor Regional Open Event at Sheffield

Posted on 23/01/2024
Over the winter period, it is always lovely to hear about the younger athletes who are enjoying being part of the club and just want to give new events a go! Recently, Georgia Evans competed in her first indoor regional open event, and her first event as an under 13, at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield.  Georgia started competing last summer and particularly enjoyed long jump and sprinting. She wanted to keep these up during the winter months, so entered the open Run, Jump, Throw event in Sheffield. It was her first competition in 60m and she ended up competing in a heat with senior females, placing 2nd. She really enjoyed the opportunity to compete at a large indoor athletics venue. Well done Georgia!
There were several other Macclesfield Harriers who also competed at the event. In action, were Hayden Blunn (U20 SP), Laurence Manley (SM 800m), Jake Rowley (U17 800m) and Ian Ratcliffe (SM 60m and 200m). Sterling performances were put in all round and several top spots were well deserved.
Results can be found here: RJT 20th Jan – Athletes.xlsx – Google Sheets
We look forward to seeing more of our young athletes competing at future indoor meetings.
