Despite Storm Bert soaking us for most of the weekend, the weather gods smiled on us and the rain cleared in time for the race. It promptly started bucketing it down again as soon as the race was over…
This is normally a fast course, and it is known for its PB potential. However, the massive puddles and the atmospheric conditions made it a bit tougher this year! Well done to all who braved the weather to take part in this splendidly organised event.
Our fastest lady was Deanne Tomkins who finished in 42:40. She was followed by Alannah Birtwistle in 43:47 and Sue Stockdale in 44:27.
Jordan Cooper crossed the finish line just four seconds ahead of Mark Walker as they recorded impressive times of 34:41 and 34:45, respectively. Our third fastest man was James Perry who finished in 35:32. A strong round of applause goes to Daniel Leng who ran his fastest 10k in 5 years and made going sub-40 look easy!
