Fourteen Macclesfield Harriers turned out for the final race of the year, the Stockport ‘10’. The race takes place on a varied route, starting on the Woodbank Park Athletics Park, going through the park before taking various hills and roads around Stockport. Congratulations to all who took part!
The first Macclesfield Harrier across the line was Rob Whitby in a time of 57:54. He was followed by Darren Dunn in 63:47 and David Chambers in 66:12.
Our fastest lady was Kristy Readman who completed the course in 68:40. She was followed by Katrina Barnes in 75:20 and Elain Pettie in 86:25.
The club also experienced some age category success. Congratulations to Kristy Readman on finishing as 1st FV50 and Darren Dunn for finishing as 2nd MV55.

The standings for the 2025 Road Running Championship will be updated after every race and can be accessed at the link below. Elaine Pettie and Joanne Booth became the 8th and 9th women to complete six qualifying races while Ian Humphreys became the 16th man to have completed six qualifying races.

Marathon results also count for points in this year’s Road Running Club Championships, so please submit your results to the Road Running Manager, Owain Morris, before December 21st if you would like your score to be added. Thank you to everyone who has submitted their results so far!
For those of you looking to book on to races for the start of the 2026 season, the following races have been confirmed as part of next year’s Macclesfield Harriers’ Road Running Club Championship:
- Four Villages Half Marathon (Helsby), January 18th
- Alsager 5, February 1st
- Wilmslow Running Festival (Half Marathon and 10k), March 22nd
- Any race which is part of the 2026 Cheshire Road Grand Prix
The full calendar for our 2026 Road Racing Championship has been drafted, and we are currently awaiting the release of the 2026 Cheshire Road Grand Prix fixtures before we finalise our own internal Road Running Club Championship fixture list. If the Cheshire Road Grand Prix fixtures are not released by December 21st, a provisional set of fixtures will be released instead.
