2024 was a fantastic year of racing in which our members competed far and wide. This included the 18 races of the 2024 Road Race Club Championship and the 8 races of the Cheshire Grand Prix.
70 men and 63 women competed in at least one event in the Road Running Club Championship. A full summary of the year’s race results is accessible here.
24 men and 18 women took part in at least one of the 8 Cheshire Grand Prix events, helping the men’s team to finish the season in 2nd and the women’s team to finish the season in 4th. Rob Whitby was crowned the Cheshire Grand Prix men’s champion and Sue Stockdale was the runner up in the women’s edition.
Open, Veteran, and U20 championships
The following 14 athletes completed 6 qualifying races – scoring points in a minimum of 1 and maximum of 3 short, medium, and long-distance races. Well done to all of you for your consistency over the year!

This award celebrates the athletes in the club who have shown most improvement over the year. This is calculated from the RunBritainRankings website with a lower VSS score indicating a greater improvement. Each athlete’s score is the average of their best four club races.
Anyone who has spent the year trying to keep up with either Graeme or Eva before giving up as they cruise into the distance can attest to the fact that they are worthy winners of this award!
