Opportunity to represent the club at the North West Counties Road Relays – September 8th.

Posted on 18/08/2024

The 24th North West Counties Road Relays will take place on Sunday, September 8th at Edge Hill University. This is an opportunity for clubs from across Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, and Merseyside to compete in road relays.

There are competitions for age groups from U11s through to seniors (age groups as of 1st September 2024). All teams require three members except for the senior men which require four members. Race distances and start times are set out below:

10:30 Under 11 Girls/Boys 3 x 1.5km
11:00 Under 13 Girls 3 x 2.8km (1 lap)
11:30 Under 13 Boys 3 x 2.8km
12:00 Under 15 Girls 3 x 2.8km
12:00 Under 17 Women 3 x 2.8km
12:30 Under 15 Boys 3 x 2.8km
13:00 Senior Women 3 x 5km (2 laps)
13:00 Under 17 Men 3 x 5km (2 laps)
14:30 Senior Men 4 x 5km (2 laps)

This event is open to all first-claim, competing members of the club so long as they were either born in or reside in Cheshire. The club encourages anyone who is interested in taking part to put their name forward as this is a great opportunity to represent the club in a team event, and the club will cover the entry cost of all Macclesfield Harriers who wish to take part.

In the event that we have enough runners competing to complete more than one team in any age category, the road running manager will designate runners to the ‘A’ or ‘B’ team.

If you would like to attend, please contact the road running manager via the club website at your earliest opportunity and no later than Monday, August 26th.
