October 2025 Club Record-Breakers Update

Posted on 12 Oct at 9:08 pm

TRACK – MEN

It was a truly successful summer for Jake Rowley after he improved his U20 800m time even further!

Competing in the British Milers Club events this year has really paid off as Jake eclipsed his own previous U20 record of 1:54.54 with a time of 1:53.90 at the Trafford BMC in August 2025.

Jake (and his parents!) will now be hoping to work towards securing a scholarship next year at his chosen university.

Tristan Lamprecht continues to shatter records across multiple disciplines, and now holds a total of seven outdoor Club Records! Tristan led the field in the 100m hurdles at the England Athletics Age Group Championships in Birmingham this summer and set a record time of 13.48 seconds. The previous record of 13.60 seconds had stood for 18 years!

It was a successful visit to Stoke this August for John Carr as he took part in the Running Bear Track Mile. John smashed the previous V50 record by almost 40 seconds, as he recorded a time of 5 minutes & 29 seconds during the event.

Ben Hunsley also improved one of his own track records in the U13 75m sprint during a Trafford Medal Meeting in September. Ben shaved a further two-tenths of a second off his previous time set in April 2024, setting a record of 10.7 seconds.

Finally, David Smith continues his impressive form and progression in both the sprints and jumps capturing a couple of records in this update. David improved his own V35 100m record of 11.84 seconds by a further 0.06 seconds with a new time of 11.78 seconds. Congratulations to these athletes

FIELD – MEN

In the Field, David Smith recorded his second record of this update, with a new V35 Long Jump record. David had previously jumped 5.95m earlier this outdoor season, however he went 5cm better in September at the British Masters in Derby!

Daniel Hunsley spotted an opening in the V50 javelin event and claimed a previously unclaimed record at the Joe Moran Memorial. Daniel posted a throw of 29.71m and now proudly holds the Club record in the event!

It was the turn of another Hunsley in September in the Combined Events Classic at Trafford. Ben Hunsley set a new U13 Pentathlon record with a score of 1565 points! The previous record of 1419 points had been held since 1995 and for more than 30 years! Fabulous achievement Ben.

Finally in the Field, Ollie Mills-Kidals continued the theme of multi-event record-breakers with his very own U17 Club record in the English Schools Octathlon at Chelmsford. Ollie recorded a total of 5004 points and captured an 18-year Octathlon record in the process.

FIELD – WOMEN

It was hammer-time for Nicky Tasker as the sole representative in the Field. Nicky previously held the V55 record in this event with a throw of 19.29m, however, this was improved twice in the space of two months. Nicky began the season with a throw of 20.24m at the T&F League event in Macclesfield, and then ended it (almost literally) at The Final Fling in Wrexham with a throw of 20.36m.

ROAD

On the Road, it was a successful summer and a double-header for Matthew Lynas. In the space of a few weeks, Matthew claimed V55 records in both the 4-mile and 20-mile distances. At the Buxton Carnival event in July, Matthew set a time of 24:31 and a previously unclaimed 4-Mile V55 record. Following this, it was a trip up the M6 to Lancaster and the Golden Ball 20 event, where Matthew targeted the 20-Mile V55 record that had stood for more than 13 years!
