Hats off to this man, Macclesfield Harrier Ciaran Wright, who battled through Storm Ciara to earn himself 7th position at Tatton 10k yesterday!
This is what Ciaran had say about his passion for running;
Q1: When did you start running?
CW: I have dabbled in running on and off since I was about 14, but didn’t start running seriously until about 3 years ago (at 29).
Q2: How long have you been a Macclesfield Harrier?
CW: Two and a half years
Q3: What has been your favourite race and why?
CW: Good question! Any race where I’ve achieved a PB time! I’d say Congleton half marathon 2017 is special because it was my first half, and I set out to achieve a sub-90 minute time. I paced it really well and nailed it. Don’t think I’ve ever been so ecstatic after a race!
Q4: What does running mean to you?
CW: It is a great way to relieve stress and also gives me an outlet for my competitive streak. I love racing!
Q5: Do you have a top tip for other runners?
CW: Train consistently, eat well, be patient, but most of all, enjoy it!
