Indoor medals for our fantastic juniors

Posted on 3 hours ago

Congratulations to Archie Davies and Eryn Mitchell who represented Macclesfield Harriers at the Northern U13 and U15 Indoor Track & Field Championships in Sheffield on 1st February.  Archie had a great day winning Gold in the U13 Boys Shot Put with a distance of 7.63m, Silver in the Long Jump with a PB of 4.33m and at the end of a long day taking Silver in the 60m sprint in 8.36 secs, having qualified earlier in the day with a PB of 8.31 secs.  A fantastic set of results reflecting Archie’s determination and commitment. Eryn, competing in the U15G age group, was very close to her PB in the 60m sprint with 9.30 secs, which she followed with a strong run in the 60m hurdles.

Some of our U11s and U13s were selected to represent Cheshire in the NW Region Indoor Sportshall Championships at Robin Park, Wigan on 25th January. The Cheshire U13 boys team, including Ben Hunsley, Archie Davies and Maddox Lamptey, won team Gold and will now be invited to represent Cheshire at the National Sportshall Finals in Stoke in April. At the same event, Cheshire just missed out on progressing to the national finals, with U11 boys (Jack B), U11 girls (Ella-Rose Melvin) and U13 girls (Amelie Whelan) winning team Silver.

Well done to all our junior athletes for stepping up to the mark and representing the club over the winter season!
