Guilden Sutton 10k, 2025

Posted on 22 Sep at 7:20 pm

After Saturday’s torrential rain, the seven Harriers who took part in the Guilden Sutton 10k were grateful for the clear blue skies which greeted them on Sunday morning. This tricky course starts with an undulating lap and a half of the village of Guilden Sutton followed by a quick downhill section alongside the A51 before runners head back towards Guilden Sutton along leafy lanes. Depending on how the race has gone, the short, sharp climb with less than 500m to go is either an opportunity to overtake tiring competitors or a kick in the teeth!

Kristy Readman put in a great performance to finish as the 4th lady overall. Her time of 41:31 also meant that she was 1st FV50 and the first Harrier to finish the race. Our second lady, and the 2nd placed FV50, was Sue Stockdale who completed the course in a time of 46:04.

Owain Morris’ quick start and his sprint finish paid off as his time of 43:53 meant he was the first male Harrier across the finish line, finishing just one second ahead of Graeme Eddie (43:54). Gareth Stockdale was the third male Harrier, finishing just 21 seconds further back in a time of 44:15.

Congratulations to all who took part and represented the club with strong performances. Full results are available here.

Name Chip Time
Kristy Readman 41:31
Owain Morris 43:53
Graeme Eddie 43:54
Gareth Stockdale 44:15
Sue Stockdale 46:04
Ray O’Keefe 46:06
Andy Thorp 48:04

The standings for the 2025 Road Running Championship will be updated after every race and can be accessed at the link below. 5 women have completed the 6 qualifying races and Sue Stockdale extended her lead to thirteen points; however, Faye Sharpley and Kristy Readman (both yet to complete 6 qualifying races) could both catch her before the end of the season. 11 men have completed 6 qualifying races, with Graeme Eddie extendin his lead at the top to three points and Ray O’Keefe climbing to 5th position. Bonus points from Cheshire Grand Prix races and the Macclesfield Running Festival as well as marathon results look likely to play a pivotal role in determining the final men’s and women’s standings!

2025 Road Running Championship Standings

Marathon results also count for points in this year’s Road Running Club Championships, so please submit your results to the Road Running Manager, Owain Morris, if you would like your score to be added. Thank you to everyone who has submitted their results so far!

The 2025 fixture list is available here, and entries are now open for all remaining races.

Our next three races are listed below. Bonus points are available for all three of the Macclesfield Running Festival distances on October 26th and the half marathon distance will be the final race of this year’s Cheshire Road Grand Prix. We finished 2nd in the men’s standings and 4th in the women’s standings  in last year’s editions of the Cheshire Road Grand Prix, and it would be great to place highly again this year! Ahead of the Guilden Sutton 10k, our men’s team was in 1st place and our ladies’ team was in 2nd place (individual and team standings available here). Let’s see if we can finish the season strongly at our home half marathon!

  • Wilmslow parkrun, October 11th
  • Macclesfield Running Festival (5k, 10k, and half marathon – bonus points available in all three races but only the half marathon is part of the Cheshire Grand Prix), October 26th
  • Flying Fox 10 Miles, November 2nd

We look forward to racing with you soon!
