Thirteen Macc Harriers took part in the Congleton Half Marathon on Sunday October 1st in conditions that turned quite wet. Despite the weather there were some great results including 4th place from Rob Whitby and 14th place for David Chambers in the men’s race as well as 12th place for Sue Stockdale and 27th for Deanne Tomkins in the women’s race. The Congleton Half was also the last race in the 8 race Cheshire Grand prix. In this race our women’s team of Sue Stockdale, Deanne Tomkins, Melanie Power and Joanne Miles came in First place and out mens team of Rob Whitby, David Chambers, Steve Lomas and Julian Brown came in third.
At the end of the 8 race competition Sue Stockdale came in third and Deanne Tomkins came in fifth overall in the individual female competition. Our female and male runners both came 4th team overall in the whole competition.
