Success at the British & Irish Mountain Running Championships

Posted on 24 Sep at 1:48 pm

Three Junior Macclesfield Harriers Fly the Flag for England!

On 13th September, not one, not two, but three incredible Junior Macclesfield Harriers proudly represented England at the Junior British & Irish Mountain Running Championships in the picturesque village of Canolfan y Fron, Gwynedd, Wales.

Despite forecasts of thundery showers, the skies held off with just a ‘breeze’ at the summit, setting the stage for some truly outstanding performances.

Connie Jenneson, who recently joined Macclesfield Harriers from Buxton, stormed to 7th place in the U20 girls, helping secure a team silver medal for England!

In the U17 boys, Jake Ireland battled right to the finish line, clinching a brilliant individual silver, while Thomas Wood powered through to 10th place, both contributing to another team silver.

A big shout out to Michael Wood, who despite just missing out on an England vest entered as an open participant and smashed it, coming in 8th in the U20 boys.

What an unforgettable experience for these exceptionally talented young athletes – and what a proud moment for Macclesfield Harriers!
