By chance two of the Club Road Champs races fell on the same weekend. The Meerbrook 15K on Saturday and the Stockport 10 on the Sunday, both involving some big ups and downs! At Meerbrook 15K 13 Macc Harriers ran with Mark Walker (57:01) running for Cheshire and Macc as first male placing 14th overall. Mark was followed by Malcolm Fowler (1:04:39) who was first M55 and Neil Hey (1:04:57). For the female Macc Harriers Faye Sharpley (1:04:41) was first placing 6th female overall. Faye was followed by Kathryn Hutchinson (1:19:34) and Ruth Gamwell (1:23:18). Of note was Kim Eastham (1:31:43) who first F55.
At Stockport 10 there were 8 Macc Harriers running with David Chambers (1:02:50) leading the way followed by Jimmy Sheldon (1:11:20) and Graeme Eddie (1:11:26). For the female Macc Harriers Sue Stockdale (1:13:26) lead the way with Catherine Wilson (1:24:28) and Imogen Spector-Hill (1:29:06) taking second and third female Macc Harrier. Of all the runners it was only Imogen Spector-Hill who took on both of these challenging races.
