The popular Mobberley Round the Runway 5 mile race put on by Wilmslow Running Club attracted 37 Macc Harriers for a race around and under the Manchester Airport runway. Very hot conditions met the runners making the shade of the tunnel under the runway a welcome relief even though everyone knew that the hill back up awaited them. Rob Whitby (29:23) continued his strong form by finishing 5th place overall. Ray O’Keefe (34:57) and Shaun Wilde (35:40) rounded off the top three male Macc Harriers. For the women Melanie Power (41:26) led the way as first female Macc Harrier followed by Rebecca Cross (42:10) and Elaine Pettie (42:39). By the end of the race there were some great times and great cake for all to enjoy! Link to the provisional results and photos are below along with the times of all the Macc Harriers.
