Track & Field

The club has a strong Track & Field section. Over the summer, we compete in three leagues across our age groups – Cheshire League – U11 to Senior; Youth Development League – U13/15; Northern T&F League – U17 to Senior. Our athletes also enter county, regional and national T&F championships. Over the winter, our athletes compete in indoor T&F, including open events and championships. We offer regular coached training sessions on Tuesday and Thursday.  We also offer a short series of T&F coaching clinics in the spring.

The Club Track & Field Championships depends on points derived from both attendance and performance. Details of the Club Track & Field Championship Rules can be found here, and the full fixture list is here.

Interval training at the track each week is designed for all running abilities and assists in improving technique, speed, strength and power to enhance racing performance whether on the road, fell, trail, track or at cross-country.

Attendance at the track interval night also allows members to talk to and befriend other club members who, otherwise, they might not necessarily get to meet, given the wide range of abilities and groups within the club.  Such nights often feel like the beating heart of the club and chat constantly prevails about previous weeks’ races and of upcoming events.

See the ‘Contact Us‘ section for details of the senior coaches.
