25 Macclesfield Harriers braved the cold to take part in the Wilmslow Festive 10k. This race is popular among PB chasers attracted to the fast, flat course, as well as those who looking to get into the Christmas spirit by racing in festive fancy dress!
The fastest Macclesfield Harrier of the day was Josh Hughes, who broke his own PB, to finish in a lighting quick time of 34:51. He was followed by David Chambers in 38:36 and Owen Mitchell in 39:50.
Our fastest lady was Sue Stockdale, completing the race in a time of 47:38. She was followed by Elsa West in 48:26 and Vanessa Harding in 48:33.

The standings for the 2025 Road Running Championship will be updated after every race and can be accessed at the link below. David Chambers became the 15th man to complete six qualifying races while seven different women have completed six qualifying races.
Although the top three in both the men’s and women’s open championship has already been decided, there is still plenty to decide as the season draws to a close. With one race of the season left, who will make a final dash up the leaderboard?

For those of you looking to book on to races for the start of the 2026 season, the following races have been confirmed as part of next year’s Macclesfield Harriers’ Road Running Club Championship:
- Four Villages Half Marathon (Helsby), January 18th
- Alsager 5, February 1st
- Wilmslow Running Festival (Half Marathon and 10k), March 22nd
- Any race which is part of the 2026 Cheshire Road Grand Prix
The full calendar for our 2026 Road Racing Championship will be released before Christmas.
The club has also received two places for the London Marathon on April 26th. A ballot for these two places will take place on December 9th. Details on eligibility and how to enter the club ballot are available here.
