Four phenomenal performances, one terrific team! It was an outstanding evening for our ladies as the first four ladies to finish this years’ Pie and Peas 5 were all Macclesfield Harriers! Congratulations to Congratulations to Faye Sharpley (33:19), Kristy Readman (33:39), Emma Johnson (34:05), and Helen Saunders (34:19) for putting in such a strong performance! As this race was designated as a Cheshire Road Grand Prix Race these results mean that our ladies’ team picked up the maximum 794 points available. A remarkable achievement!
The men also performed well. Rob Whitby was the first Harrier across the line in a time of 27:52, and he was followed by Graeme Eddie in 33:54, and Duncan James in 34:33.
There were also some impressive age grade performances for the team. Faye Sharpley was 1st FV40, Kristy Readman was 1st FV50, Emma Jonson was 1st FU20, Ray O’Keefe was first MV60, Sue Stockdale was 2nd FV50, and Harry Newton was 2nd MV80.
Congratulations to all who took part and represented the club with strong performances. Full results are available here.

2025 Road Running Championship Standings
Marathon results also count for points in this year’s Road Running Club Championships, so please submit your results to the Road Running Manager, Owain Morris, if you would like your score to be added. Thank you to everyone who has submitted their results so far!
The 2025 fixture list is available here, and entries are now open for all remaining races.
Two of our next three races are designated as Cheshire Road Grand Prix races. Participating in these races is a great way to represent the club (and grab the bonus points available for competing!). We finished 2nd in the men’s standings and 4th in the women’s standings last year and we are hoping for another strong showing this year. The ladies’ superb performance at Pie and Peas 5 will likely have seen them move up the standings from 3rd while the men will be hoping they are still 1st when the standings are updated (individual and team standings available here). A full team consists of four people, so it would be great to have at least 4 men and 4 women at the remaining Cheshire Road Grand Prix races.
- Birchwood 10k (Cheshire Road Grand Prix), August 17th
- Guilden Sutton 10k (Cheshire Road Grand Prix), September 21st
- Wilmslow parkrun, October 11th
The club will also be participating in the North West Road Relays on September 14th. Further information will be released soon but anyone who is interested in taking part should contact Road Running Section Lead Owain Morris.
We look forward to racing with you soon!
