Macclesfield parkrun was designated as a road running club championship race this weekend. Despite the rain, a huge turnout of 34 club members made their way down to our local parkrun.
James Perry ran a new course PB of 18:09 to ensure that he was the first Macclesfield Harrier across the line. He was followed by George O’Donnell in 18:16 and Jordan Cooper in 18:37.
Helen Saunders continued her impressive recent form to finish as the first lady in a time of 21:54. She was followed by Jenna Williams in 22:07 and Hannah Hicks in 22:25
Congratulations to all who took part and represented the club with strong performances. Full results are available here.

The standings for the 2025 Road Running Championship will be updated after every race and can be accessed at the link below. 4 more women have now completed 6 qualifying races, with Helen Saunders closing in on Sue Stockdale at the top. 2 more men have also completed 6 qualifying races, and thanks to his efforts at parkrun James Perry has climbed one place to 4th.
2025 Road Running Championship Standings
Marathon results also count for points in this year’s Road Running Club Championships, so please submit your results to the Road Running Manager, Owain Morris, if you would like your score to be added. Thank you to everyone who has submitted their results so far!
The 2025 fixture list is available here, and entries are now open for all remaining races bar the Congleton Half Marathon.
Our next three races are all designated as Cheshire Road Grand Prix races. Participating in these races is a great way to represent the club (and grab the bonus points available for competing!). We finished 4th in the women’s standings and 2nd in the men’s standings last year, and we are hoping for another strong showing this year. We are currently 3rd in the women’s standings and 1st in the men’s standings (individual and team standings available here). A full team consists of four people, so it would be great to have at least 4 men and 4 women at each of the races listed below:
- Pie and Peas 5 (Cheshire Road Grand Prix), August 6th
- Birchwood 10k (Cheshire Road Grand Prix), August 17th
- Guilden Sutton 10k (Cheshire Road Grand Prix), September 21st
We look forward to racing with you soon!
