Congleton parkrun #578

Posted on 5 Apr at 8:22 pm

The second of the four parkruns designated as fixtures in our Road Running Club Championship took place at Congleton parkrun #578. Just like in Pavilion Gardens, Buxton a few weeks ago, bright sunshine welcomed our large contingent of Macclesfield Harriers. The course consists of three flat loops of Astbury Mere and is ideal for targeting fast times. Additionally, Congleton Harriers provided pacers for this morning’s parkrun, making PBs even more likely!

Of the 29 Harriers who attended, 9 attended Congleton parkrun for the first time while 6 recorded new course PBs.

As well as being the first female Macclesfield Harrier to cross the line, Faye Sharpley was also the first lady overall, finishing in a time of 19:25. Helen Saunders (20:41), and Sue Stockdale (21:35) were the second and third Macclesfield Harriers ladies, respectively.

Impressively, the first five men to finish today were all members of Macclesfield Harriers & A.C. Matthew Walker broke his course PB to finish in 16:48, and he was followed by Ben Greene (16:55), Mark Walker (17:04), Jordan Cooper in (17:06), and George O’Donnell in (17:20).

Congratulations to all for your performances at Congleton parkrun #578. Full results are available here.
