DESCRIPTION:Bamford Carnival Fell Race\nWednesday 17th July 2024\, Race starts at 7.30pm.  7.2km\, 320m ascent. \nMinimum age 16 on the day of the race. \nOnline entry via SI Entries  \n£7 FRA members\, £8 non members.  Limited entries on the night £10. \nStart and finish Bamford Recreation Ground\, Grid Ref. 206829. \nFree car parking on the Recreation Ground\, S33 0DA\, off Station Road. \nThe race is licensed by the FRA under UKA Rules.  Category B\, Short. \nThe well marked route goes from Bamford Recreation Ground to the top of Win Hill and back.  Mostly on footpaths with a road section at the beginning and plenty of marshals make this event suitable for novice fell runners and experienced racers.

SUMMARY:2024 Eccles Pike - Summer Event Series
DESCRIPTION:This is one of the oldest fell races in the country with a history going back over 100 years. It is renowned for being short\, tough and demanding. \nDistance of 3.4 miles with 1001 feet of climb. \nThis year we will be using the Bugsworth War Memorial Club as Race HQ\, this is just around the corner from the canal basin and the old venue and is much closer to the start of the race.  Please be aware that if you park at the Navigation Inn you may be charged a fee unless you go in and spend money at the bar.  There is a large car park available at Tesco only 1km away on the canal.  Other parking will be available on the day\, please read the race brief email that will be sent out a few days before the race for details. \nNumbers will be picked up on the day. \nStart time 7.30pm\, this race often sells out which makes it unlikely there will be entries on the day.

NO GPS ALLOWED \n* Note that there is a 1.30pm cut off at Grisedale Tarn. \n**A misconception often quoted is that we go to Hole in the Wall after St Sunday Crag. This is incorrect. The Hole in the Wall is approx 500 feet (150 metres) higher & 3/4 of a mile (1.2km) in the wrong direction to the finish from where the race route crosses the wall. \nCar parking is at Patterdale Cricket Club (CA11 0PJ) which is a ten minute walk from registration/start. £5 cash per car. FULL FRA KIT IS REQUIRED AND WILL BE CHECKED AT THE VILLAGE HALL BEFORE YOU REGISTER

Saturday 21st Sept 2023 \nRegistration/HQ will be at Padarn Lake Hotel\, Llanberis \nStarts: 10.30am Half Peris & ‘Early’ Full Peris\, 11am Full Peris.  \nFull Peris 28km 2600m ascent Summit 9 peaks Elidir Fawr (924 m) • Y Garn (947 m) • Glyder Fawr (1\,001 m) • Lliwedd Bach (818 m) • Y Lliwedd (898 m) • Snowdon – Yr Wyddfa (1\,085 m) • Bwlch Glâs (998 m) • Clogwyn Llechwedd-Llo (600 m) • Moel Cynghorion (674 m) \nHalf Peris 13km 1375m 3 peaks Elidir Fawr (924 m) • Y Garn (947 m) • Glyder Fawr (1\,001 m) Finish at Pen y Pas and catch the bus back to llanberis. \nBoth Full and Half Peris are a brilliant challenge with incredible views of Eryri through out. These are serious fell races\, taking in steep and rocky terrain\, as well as providing a fantastic challenge they do require some serious preparation (following a road 10km training programme probably wont cut it!) Marshals will be on the summits\, navigation required between check points. Following other runners is fine in clear weather but if it’s cloudy and visibility is poor the use of compass and map is required\, so brush up on your navigation skills as well as your mountain fitness before race day!

The race starts at 7:30pm very close to the Institute building. \nThe race is run under FRA regulations – as such be prepared to have FRA kit – a recommended minimum for this race is a waterproof top. The race route map and GPX file is available on the race website here (Rainow 5)\nIt is your responsibility to know the route (its on footpaths) – there will be marshals on each junction. Note the race is 5 miles (not 5K!). After collecting your number\, if you do not start or do not complete the race it is essential you let a marshal or the race registration team know.  There will be a “sweeper” at the back of the runners. DESCRIPTION:The 2025 Fell Handicap is on on Sunday 14th December 2025\nNote: Entry Limit of 80 places (restricted by space in St Dunstan) \nPLEASE READ INSTRUCTIONS BELOW \nAll participants need to pre-register using the link to the Pre-registration form below and pre-pay to get a start time.\nPayment details will be provided.\nNote: There is a mass start at 8.30am for those with an estimated time longer than 3h30m. Runners in the mass start cannot ‘win’ the handicap and will be expected to run the course with at least one other person for safety reasons. The infamous ‘Sweetie Tree’ is optional but a time penalty (tbd) will be applied if you do not visit the tree. \n2025 PRE-REGISTRATION FORM\n2025 REQUEST BANK DETAILS TO PAY FOR YOUR ENTRY  (for those not in the Fell or Trail Facebook Groups) \nNote 1: This event is for members of the club only. Min age 18 years. Handicap start times will be set such that everybody arrives back at the finish at ‘about’ the same time. The winner of the handicap event is the first person back (excluding anyone in the ‘mass start’).\nNote 2:  Cost is £10 to include soup & sandwich – to be paid before the event to Sarah Cassie (details available trail & fell club FB groups or via CONTACT FORM).
