DESCRIPTION:The annual Rainow 5 is back for 2023. Wed 3rd May 2023. \nBackground about the event can be found here… Rainow 5 \nBelow is 2022 Information from Rachael (RD) – will be updated for 2023. \nPlease collect your race number from registration in the Rainow Village Institute (opposite Robin Hood pub) from 6pm onwards. Bags can be left here (no valuables to be left). Bring your own safety pins please. All runners must display their race number. The race starts at 7:30pm very close to the Institute building. \nThe race is run under FRA regulations – as such be prepared to have FRA kit – a recommended minimum for this race is a waterproof top. The race route map and GPX file is available on the race website: https://macclesfield-harriers.co.uk/rainow5. It is your responsibility to know the route (its on footpaths) – there will be marshals on each junction. Note the race is 5 miles (not 5K!). After collecting your number\, if you do not start or do not complete the race it is essential you let a marshal or therace registration team know.  There will be a “sweeper” at the back of the runners. The route does include kissing gates – if you are fast make sure you start at the front – otherwise be prepared to make the most of a breather at the gates if necessary! \nAfter the race tea/coffees and cakes will be available to buy – please bring exact cash £2-£3 depending on your thirst and hunger and if possible bring your own mug to be filled(refreshment profits all fund-raising for Rainow Pre-School). \nLow-key prize giving will take place at 8:45pm in the institute\, along with presentation of donations from your entry fees to local charities TBD. \nI look forward to seeing you all & enjoy the race. \nRachael Lawrance \nPS. The winner of the handicap event is the first person back (excluding anyone in the ‘mass start’).\nNote 2:  Cost is £10 to include soup & sandwich – to be paid before the event to Sarah Cassie (details available trail & fell club FB groups or via CONTACT FORM). SUMMARY:2026 Rainow 5
DESCRIPTION:The annual Rainow 5 is back for 2026. Wednesday 6th May 2025. \nBackground about the event can be found here… Rainow 5 \nPlease collect your race number from registration in the Rainow Village Institute (opposite Robin Hood pub) from 6pm onwards. Bags can be left here (no valuables to be left). Bring your own safety pins please. All runners must display their race number. The race starts at 7:30pm very close to the Institute building. \nThe race is run under FRA regulations – as such be prepared to have FRA kit – a recommended minimum for this race is a waterproof top. The race route map and GPX file is available on the race website here (Rainow 5)\nIt is your responsibility to know the route (its on footpaths) – there will be marshals on each junction. Note the race is 5 miles (not 5K!). After collecting your number\, if you do not start or do not complete the race it is essential you let a marshal or the race registration team know.  There will be a “sweeper” at the back of the runners. The route does include kissing gates – if you are fast make sure you start at the front – otherwise be prepared to make the most of a breather at the gates if necessary! \nAfter the race tea/coffees and cakes will be available to buy – please bring exact cash £2-£3 depending on your thirst and hunger and if possible bring your own mug to be filled(refreshment profits all fund-raising for Rainow Pre-School). \nLow-key prize giving will take place at 8:45pm in the institute\, along with presentation of donations from your entry fees to local charities TBD. \nI look forward to seeing you all & enjoy the race. \nRachael Lawrance \nFor route and previous results information CLICK HERE \n
