There will be a run on Sunday 24th Dec, from outside the Boars Head pub, Higher Poynton. 10am start for a run of between 90 minutes and 2 hours, with plenty of options for shortcuts if wanted.Â
All welcome, after we will retreat to either the pub or the cafe next door, but feel free to bring some festive mince pies as well if you want!
Parking available in the visitor centre car park, but this may be pay and display so you might choose to park on the road instead, try not to fill up the pub car park though.
See you there !

Message from Phil Cheek (Handicap Organiser)
The Fell Handicap has been rearranged for Sunday 18th February 2018. It has been tricky to find a new date that did not clash with other Club events that the pub could accommodate. For anybody that cannot make the new date I apologise.
Please can you let Phil Cheek know if you plan to run on the new date so that the start times can be sorted out (see below). All other arrangements remain the same (St Dunstan's for registration and post run food, ÂŁ6 entry, Sweetie tree etc).
hope to see you there!
Phil Cheek

On Saturday 16th December there's the last North Staffs XC League races at Staffs University, Leek Road Stoke. Races start from 12am for the juniors, 1:30 for the Senior Ladies and 2:10 for the senior men. Even if you've not run any of the first 3 races (or indeed never run XC before!) you'd be more than welcome along, it's a great way to support your club, not too demanding, all free and you don't need to pre-register. There's usually some car sharing to get there. Presentations for the series will be from 15.30 onwards at the University: and there are always plenty of individual and team prizes coming in the direction of Macclesfield. http://www.nsccl.org.uk/index.htm
On the same evening (Saturday) all senior members are invited to a social drink or two in the Chester Road Tavern, which unsurprisingly is at 18 Chester Rd, Macclesfield SK11 8DG, from about 7:30 pm. Daft Xmas jumpers will of course be much appreciated (but see below re fancy dress...).
On Sunday morning 17th December, 11am start, there is the Roaches Xmas Cracker race from Tittesworth Reservoir Meerbrook. An 8 mile race up and over the Roaches, all for good causes, and, as well as being a fine race in its own right, there are prizes for the best team and individual fancy dress (the individual prize has in fact been won by a Harrier for the last 3 years!) So with a bit of creative thinking see what you can come up with.  https://www.staffsmoorlands-ac.co.uk/our-races/christmas-cracker
And last but by no means least on Wed 20th December, start time 7pm at the Vale Inn Bollington there will be Andy Skelhorn's traditional orienteering event, up to 90 minutes running round the streets and tracks of Bollington and thereabouts collecting random clues. All welcome: maps and clue sheets provided: if your map-reading skills are next to useless you'll be in good company, as long as you can find your way back to the pub.
Hope to see you at one or more of these !!
