Cheshire Track and Field Championships

The U17 ladies participated at the Cheshire  Track and Field Championshipsover the weekend of 13/14th May,  with the following results:
Katie Heron - 3rd Triple Jump - 9.56m
Rowena Evans - 1st Discus- 19.43m, 1st shot - 8.20m, 2nd hammer - 14.91
Steph Kleynhans - 1st 80m Hurdles -12.1s; 1st 300m Hurdles - 48.1s, 2nd Triple Jump - 10.72, 3rd Long Jump - 4.99m and 3rd High Jump - 1.60m.
Steph Kleynhans broke 2 club records and equalled one - to be ratified by the club statistician.
Also competing were Lucy Pollard, and Hannah Hills

Saturday Morning Coaching Sessions

Saturday morning coaching sessions – 20 May, 17 June, 23 July

All U13, U15, U17, U20 and Senior athletes are welcome to join in technique training for pole vault, relay practice, hurdles, starts, long jump, high jump etc on the above dates from 10.00 – 12.00. Cost £2 towards track hire charge.

North of England Track and Field

Anyone who is planning to run in the North of England Track and Field Match on Saturday 6 May should note that the venue for the meeting is Bolton (Leverhulme Park Athletics Stadium) as indicated in the info on the NoEAA web (http://www.noeaa-athletics.org.uk/track/league ) and not at Wigan as stated in the Macclesfield Harriers fixtures calendar.

UK Sportshall Athletics Final

Nine Macclesfield Harriers joined young athletes from all over the UK to contest the prestigious UK Sportshall Athletics Final on Sunday at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham. The Harriers had gained places on the Cheshire team, representing the North West in the event, a showcase for future talent in the UK, and were thrilled that former sportshall and current Commonwealth champion Kelly Sotherton was on hand to present the awards.
