Updated Bowdon 5K 2017 Race Report

The Bowdon 5K is the third race of the five race North Cheshire 5K Grand Prix that runs for four weeks at the end of May through into June. The race is a flat two lap course that runs through the leafy roads and paths of Bowdon. There were 7 Macc Harriers that raced on Thursday evening with some outstanding results for the women.

Lyme Park Parkrun Race Report 2017

Lyme Park displayed all of its beauty this morning with bright sunshine, gracefully roaming deer and outstanding views for the 31 Harriers who took on this challenging Parkrun course. Conditions were ideal with many runners either beating their personal best for the course or setting a fast time on their first appearance. Parkrun is organised solely by volunteers and Harriers Steve Lomas and Neil Gunn were out on the course as volunteers cheering on all the runners to some quick times.

May 2017 Road Running update

We’re now into the heart of the running year with many opportunities for runners to enjoy the warmer weather. Not only are there road races but the track and field season has started and there are many fell races to choose from every week.

This coming Saturday May 20th at 9am is our next Club Road Race Championship race at the very scenic Lyme Park Parkrun. If you have not tried this Parkrun yet then you are really missing something special! The challenge of running up a few hills is usually rewarded by some great views from the Cage. So come on out this Saturday and join other Harriers of all abilities at this great Parkrun. Registration and info links are below:

Round the Runway 5 mile Race Report 2017

 

This popular local race put on by Wilmslow Running Club takes in the roads and trails around (and under!) Manchester Airport.  Our captain, race organiser Rob Downs, told runners to fasten their seatbelts for a fast race as conditions were the driest they had been in years. 32 Macc Harriers ran under low flying planes and under the runway to post some excellent times and take home a number of prizes.
