Final 2017 Cheshire Road Race Grand Prix Results

Each year teams and individuals from Cheshire compete in 7 races of differing lengths in the Cheshire Road Race Grand Prix. Our club encourages all members to run in these races with the added incentive of gaining 10 extra points in our Club Road Race Championships. This year the Grand Prix included the Chester Spring 5, Mid Cheshire 5K, Alderley Edge Bypass 10K, Pie & Peas 5, Sutton 10K, Congleton Half Marathon and the Farndon 10K. Both our men’s and women’s teams did very well with the men placing 3rd behind Vale Royal and South Cheshire Harriers and the women also placing 3rd behind Vale Royal and Wilmslow. In the individual competition for the men Mark Walker picked up the 3rd place prize and Scott Wilson came in 5th and for the women Sam Kyriacou came in 10th place and Daisy Pickles came in 16th. Thanks to everyone who participated to gain points for our teams! Full results will be available shortly on the Cheshire AA website: http://www.cheshireaa.com/

Langley 7 2017

Hi all, and thanks to everyone once again for supporting our annual jaunt in whatever way, running, helping, marshalling, baking, biking, serving beer, tea, cakes, sweeping, photographing, first responding, and several others !

We had 286 finishers, (including 83 from Macc Harriers which must be some sort of record), but despite your best efforts didn't run out of cake, beer or malt loaf. The rain held off, more or less, and everyone seemed to come back in one piece.

Results are here http://macclesfield-harriers.co.uk/images/langley72017results.xls  . Congratulations to our winners Diane and Martin, all the other prize winners, and everyone else who ran. Please let us have any feedback, good or bad !

Bryan's photos will be here http://www.racephotos.org.uk/

Lost property, we found a pair of black gloves on the course, and a thing that looks like it goes in your ear and talks to a bluetooth or something (you can tell I'm an IT specialist): if either are yours let me know. We also found one of last year's goody bags in the hall but the less said about that the better, the malt loaf in it was past its best.

We've raised £3830 for the Rossendale Trust, so once again, many thanks.

Cheers Julian and all the team at Macc Harriers.

A couple of pictures from the day: thanks to Kath Turner for the second one.

Bramhall Parkrun 2017 Race Report

The threat of storm Brian did not deter 14 Harriers from running in the latest Club Road Running Championship race at the Bramhall Parkrun with 340 other runners. Bramhall Parkrun is one of the first local Parkruns and always attracts a large number of runners to this challenging two lap course. There were some great times with many of the Harriers improving their best time for this Parkrun.
