March Road Running Update

We are about a month away from the start of the Cheshire County Road Race Grand Prix 2017 races (http://www.cheshireaa.com/Results/RRGP/cheshire_road_race_grand_prix_2017.aspx). This is a series of seven races from 5K to Half Marathon where individuals and running clubs from Cheshire compete against each other.  A runner's best 4 scores count for the individual male and female awards and a club's best 5 scores count toward the team awards. Last year our men came 4th and our women came 2nd with James Noakes placing 3rd male and Louisa Whittingham placing 1st female. Any Macc Harrier is eligible to enter and race for the club with the added incentive of extra points towards our Club Road Racing Championships (http://www.macclesfield-harriers.co.uk/index.php/road-running-mainmenu-27/2017-club-road-race-rules). Many of the races in the Cheshire County Road Race Grand Prix are on fast courses so also offer some great PB potential. The seven races are listed below with their entry links. It would be great if we could get strong turnouts and continue our successes in this series of road races.

Marathon Advice Evening - 1st February

On Wednesday 1st February at 8.00pm (room available from 7.30pm) there will be the chance for club members to meet in the Park Tavern (Park Lane, Macclesfield) to discuss all things marathon - training, nutrition, kit, race day.

This evening is for club members who have run marathons before to share their experience with those who are running one for the first time (the room has limited capacity!).

Please pass this information to anybody that is interested in coming along.
