2016 Forest 5 - Wednesday 20th July

The 2016 Forest 5 is on Wednesday 20th July starting at 7.30pm. Registration is from 6.00pm behind the ranger station at Trentabank. This race is organised by Peter Noland under a TRA licence. Macclesfield Harriers are assisting with volunteers and race signage. ÂŁ6 (EoD only). All net proceeds will be donated to The Rossendale Trust.

May 2016 - Scamper-O results and event report

A very dismal drizzly Disley Station car park was the venue for this years ScamperO orienteering event. Thanks to all 22 competitors for not only coming along and being remarkably cheerful on such a night. It was good to see a few new faces too.

Scamper-O Orienteering next Wednesday

Mass Start at 7pm. 90 min Score Event all on public rights of way. Map provided with control circles printed on.Clues on questionnaire format. Penalties for being late. Registration from 6.15pm. Free to enter.

Rainow 5 Fell Race 2016

*** Updated - it turns out the timekeepers had forgotten to adjust for Rainow Summer Time, which means that the previous results had you all 19 seconds slower than your actual times ! Corrected results below.  Thanks also to runners who uploaded data to Strava which helped us to resolve which of our double timing system was the closest to the true finish times! ***

A lovely sunny evening resulted in a great turn-out of 210 runners for the Rainow 5 race 2016. The race starts next to the Robin Hood pub in Rainow and follows tracks and footpaths along up to White Nancy and along the Kerridge Ridge and back to Rainow.

First home was Jack Ross (Staffs Moorlands) , who finished in 32min 27 secs, and first lady home was Rachael Anne Brown (Staffs Moorlands) in 39min 28secs. Pennine scooped the Men’s team prize, and Macclesfield Harriers claimed the Ladies’ team prize.
