Staffs Moorlands Summer Series 2017

Congratulations to Simon Harding who won last night's Shutlingsloe race, the third in this year's Staffs Moorlands Thursday Night Summer Series.

Full details of the series are here.. - and all club members who train on Thursdays are encouraged to attend. Entry is on the night.

As an extra incentive, next Thursday's race, at Rudyard Lake, is close to a club member's house: rumour has it post-race cake may well be available.

National XC 2017

News in from Wollaton Hall, Nottingham ....

As predicted all eyes were on Sian Heslop who finished 17th out of 468 in the U15 girls.

The under 15 boys team finished in 11th place out of 36 teams thanks to amazing team efforts from Lucas, Finn, Peter and Harry.

The Junior ladies race saw outstanding performances from Sarah Stockman, 20th and Louisa Whittingham, 35th who have consistently ran well all season.

There were several other great performances amongst both our juniors and senior runners at the top XC race in the country.

Well done to everyone who ran today through deer muck, reeds and knee deep water.

Hope you've all received your saucony photos. A real momento of another great event.

North Staffs XC League - Final Results

Saturday saw the last of the three races (the series shortened from 4 this year due to the cancellation of the Keele races) in the North Staffs XC League at Stafford Common.

A good day for cross country, mild and not too wet underfoot, and some excellent performances to match.

Full results for the race are here

and for the series here

and Bryan's excellent photos and videos of you all here

Considering all the junior teams and athletes together, Macclesfield Harriers were by some distance the strongest team in the League.
