Harriers' win at Buxton

Macclesfield Harriers’ Sarah Harris strode to her second win of this year’s Staffordshire Moorlands Summer Series with a decisive victory at the Buxton venue last Thursday, the fourth race of the Series.

The 4.4 mile two-lap course takes one over moorland and around Soloman’s Temple folly before dropping down to Grinlow Woods which overlook the town of Buxton and close by to the tourist attraction of Poole’s Cavern.

Sarah shares two wins each, in this series, with her friendly rival, Ruth Watchorn-Rice of Staffordshire Moorlands AC.

Harriers’ Andrea Frost soon followed them home in the ladies’ race with a 3rd place result.

In the men’s race, Dan Croft was again the first vet 45, to consolidate his leading position in the category this year and he was 7th overall in this Buxton race.  Julian Brown was also a leading contender for the vet 45’s in this race and Alan Webster was one of the first vet 50’s to finish.
