New to the Club?

We cater for both junior (minimum age 9 up to 17) and senior (18+, with at least 2 active members in their eighties) athletes, and we offer Track and Field, Cross Country, Road Running, Trail Running and Fell / Hill Running.

Track & Field (Juniors & Seniors)

We offer regular coached training sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

For general T&F enquiries please contact the Track & Field Manager – CONTACT FORM.

For juniors – please contact the Junior Waiting List with your child’s name and date of birth before coming to training. We often operate a waiting list, particularly for the younger age groups (school years 4-7).

Note: Due to the demand for junior places the waiting list can be as long as 12 months.
Note: Please make sure that juniorwaitinglist@macclesfield-harriers.co.uk is in your list of ‘safe senders’ to avoid replies being classed as SPAM

Road Running

If you’re a senior athlete interested in road running, please feel free to come along to meet us and try a run.

We cater for runners of all abilities with a range of groups that meet to run throughout the week.  All the groups are very friendly and the leader will ensure that nobody is left behind.  All groups run from various easily accessible locations on a variety of Roads and Trails.

Contact tryarun@macclesfield-harriers.co.uk and we will get back to you to help you find a group to suit your needs.  Or choose a group for yourself and email the appropriate leader.

In addition, Senior Interval training takes place on Tuesdays at the Macclesfield Athletics Track.

Fell Running

If you’re a senior and keen to try fell running, then please come to one of our Wednesday night sessions, we start at 7pm, from a different venue every week (see the closed Fell Facebook Group), please wear appropriate clothing and footwear and in winter bring a decent torch, as we generally run off-road. Contact the Fell Manager (see Contact list) if you’ve any questions.

To arrange a trial run in Green or Blue (longer, faster runs), contact the Fell Manager.
Wondering if you have the confidence/ability to step up to the challenge?  For advice contact the Green Team Leader.

Cross Country Running

Cross country running is open to children from age 9 and above, and adults of all ages. If you’re a junior athlete interested in cross country racing, please contact Junior Waiting List with your child’s name and date of birth before coming to training. Adults interested in cross country should contact the Men’s or Ladies Cross country manager (see Contact list) if you’ve any questions.
