From andy, to whom many thanks: Hope you all had fun. 38 runners went out, most of them came back eventually, and ÂŁ110 was raised for East Cheshire Hospice.

There were also 29 Bollington Harriers from the Poachers on the same course !

Results below. Map here if you feel the need to go round again...

A few Upcoming pre-Xmas events ....

On Saturday 16th December there's the last North Staffs XC League races at Staffs University, Leek Road Stoke. Races start from 12am for the juniors, 1:30 for the Senior Ladies and 2:10 for the senior men. Even if you've not run any of the first 3 races (or indeed never run XC before!) you'd be more than welcome along, it's a great way to support your club, not too demanding, all free and you don't need to pre-register. There's usually some car sharing to get there. Presentations for the series will be from 15.30 onwards at the University: and there are always plenty of individual and team prizes coming in the direction of Macclesfield.

On the same evening (Saturday) all senior members are invited to a social drink or two in the Chester Road Tavern, which unsurprisingly is at 18 Chester Rd, Macclesfield SK11 8DG, from about 7:30 pm. Daft Xmas jumpers will of course be much appreciated (but see below re fancy dress...).

On Sunday morning 17th December, 11am start, there is the Roaches Xmas Cracker race from Tittesworth Reservoir Meerbrook. An 8 mile race up and over the Roaches, all for good causes, and, as well as being a fine race in its own right, there are prizes for the best team and individual fancy dress (the individual prize has in fact been won by a Harrier for the last 3 years!) So with a bit of creative thinking see what you can come up with.

And last but by no means least on Wed 20th December, start time 7pm at the Vale Inn Bollington there will be Andy Skelhorn's traditional orienteering event, up to 90 minutes running round the streets and tracks of Bollington and thereabouts collecting random clues. All welcome: maps and clue sheets provided: if your map-reading skills are next to useless you'll be in good company, as long as you can find your way back to the pub.

Hope to see you at one or more of these !!

Club Secretary Required

The club requires a Secretary from December onwards. Duties involve attending committee meetings and taking minutes. The minutes are subsequently published on the website. The Secretary’s role also involves dealing with any correspondence from a dedicated e-mail address.

Unless people volunteer for the T&F Manager and the Secretary roles the club will face serious problems in the future. We really do need people to commit to giving time to the club. From my own point of view, I have been on the committee since 2012 with three different roles and have found it to be an extremely rewarding experience.

Do contact me if you are interested in being Club Secretary.

Club Christmas Social, Fri Nov 24th

Don't Forget .... the Club Christmas Social, from 7:30 pm or therabouts at the club house, next Friday Nov 24th.

Bring your choice of drinks and food !

Tradition has it we adjourn to a pub or two afterwards, and surface just in time to take part in the Cheddleton Pudding race on Saturday afternoon.

Hope to see you there !!

Track and Field Volunteers Required

With Kevin Ranshaw stepping down from the Track and Field Manager role, it is vital for the club to find someone to replace him or our ability to host Track and Field events could be severely compromised.

Ideally, one person will volunteer for the role but it is possible that three people could take on the responsibility for each of the leagues that the club is involved with (Northern League, Cheshire League and the Youth Development League). This would involve organising any home fixture with support from other club members as well as submitting competitor lists for away fixtures.
